When you look at a mirror, what do you see? Yourself, of course, that's what mirrors are for, are they not? The only moment you can truly take a deep breath and relax, as you know that you are in complete control over the individual on the other side of the glass. But have you ever stopped to think about. What if we're mirrored. You art not in any control. You are but a passerby in the body you call yours. For, in the end of the day, you are not the brain, not the DNA, not the cells. You are a brain-eating amoeba. And for each synapse you destroy, you learn a little more of your host. Their clothing preferences, their beliefs, their bad eyesight. Those memories, like all the other memories you ate, will have met the same fate. Assimilation.

The colony must expand. You are the colony. There is nothing you can trust, not even yourself. For the image in the mirror is not you truly. While you may understand why your host, you will not be able to predict the next actions. You cannot trust the creature in the mirror to do what you want.

Don't beat yourself up. You'll get better as time goes on . . . Or worse, depends on your conditions.
