"I WON’T abandon you! So stop asking me to!"
- Pizza

The Source is the fifth chapter of Chicory: A Colorful Tale. It begins after defeating the boss at the end of Chapter 4.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Defeating the corruption in Feast grants Pizza the ability to swim up painted walls. Pizza realizes that if this corruption could reflect them as well, it couldn't solely be from Chicory like they, Blackberry, and Chicory herself had thought. Instead, it must have come from their primary common trait, wielding the brush. Using their new wall-swimming ability, they take a shortcut exit from Feast to return to Chicory in the Wielder Tower. They enter Chicory's room to find it overtaken by corruption. After venturing deeper, they find Chicory.

Chicory is surprised that Pizza came back, but tells them to leave her alone again. She says that everything that's been happening is her fault, and she's best left abandoned in her room. Pizza doesn't give up on her, however. This initiates the boss fight.

Boss[edit | edit source]

The Chicory boss fight is sometimes referred to as Boss 5 or by its backing track Abandon Me.

This encounter is unique, as Pizza does not attack at any point. Rather, they simply dodge the attacks and help Chicory calm down.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Source is the shortest chapter in the game, consisting nearly solely of the Chicory encounter.
